Sappho Speaks: IT'S OPRAH AND GAYLE AGAIN, Part Deux

What Would Sappho Say?

Lectori Salutem! or L.S. (Greetings to the Reader!)

Okay... So we’ve gone over this territory haven’t we? Well, apparently not. I had this idea for a topic long before I started publishing this blog and it happened to slip my mind that I had ALREADY written it, so... a few months apart you’ll get a slightly different take on the same subject. This one seems to be more homo-centric and uniting, perhaps the earthquake in Haiti made an impact on the slant I took as this was written shortly after. I hope you will enjoy a bit of the compare and contrast instead of being bored by the same old subject. I guess we’re about to find out.

Sappho Speaks: What If the World Were Oprah and Gayle?

What Would Sappho Say?

Lectori Salutem! or L.S. (Greetings to the Reader!)

I know it’s been a long running joke in the lesbian community but we all know it is just wishful thinking, but let’s take that wish on into fruition and live in this world for a little while. I think we would find 2009’s political landscape much different for gay men and women.

Anyone who has watched Oprah grow (pun intended) over the years knows she is not someone to sit in silence on any issue. She is not a sideline player; she is a stand up and be counted, use her political clout when necessary, get the job done kind of woman we have all grown to respect, if not love over the last 25 years in broadcast television. She is certainly the undeniable QUEEN of the TALK SHOW and has taken on topics and people rivaling the great Barbara Waltersno disrespect Madam Walters.

Sappho Says: So They Say It’s Your Birthday!

What Would Sappho Say?

Lectori Salutem! or L.S. (Greetings to the Reader!)

AH YES, at 4:52 AM on February 15th, year unknown, I was brought into this world as a healthy, and I am sure, screaming baby girl. Since for most of my readers my persona is anonymous, I will give you a hint as to my age. This year is a palindrome for the number of years here on Mother Earth for me. Now if I were actually some reincarnate muse of Sappho, that could mean I was 323 years old, 121 years old, or a mere 11 years young. You just never know when the muse will strike and the words will come flying forth.
